BODEGÓ CUBISTA
For my cubism artwork, I have used as my artistic referent Pablo Picasso, more specifically the artwork he made called "reservoir, horta de ebro". This work stands as a testament to the transformative power of cubism, a movement that reshaped artistic conventions. The deliberate choice of this masterpiece as a reference is because of the profound interplay of colors that define it's composition and it's squared shapes and straight lines.
I chose the blue tones in the painting not only because it captures the essence of depth and perspective, hallmarking the exploratory nature of cubist art because it also brings vivid colors into the painting. The use of browns introduces an earthy warmth, anchoring the composition with a sense of solidity amidst the avant-garde exploration of form. In my painting it is mainly used in big shapes like the table. Yellows and oranges are used because of their vivrant energy injecting dynamism and livliness into the composition.
Finally, the use of grays in the backround acts as a unifying thread, in which it makes it seem like connecting the diverse elements within the composition. The grays in Picasso's masterpiece serve as conduits, faciliting a harmonious balance and contribuing to the overall cohesion of the piece.
For the composition's part I have focused on the squared shapes and straight lines, and the main composition is diagonal lines that combine at the end.
The proposal I have made in my cubist work changes some of the shapes of the main elements as well as their positions. The main visual elements that we can see are the books in yellow and orange tones, the blue bottles that have been made as abstract shapes by braking them in half and positioning them in different places, for this I have inspired myself in the artwork called "soldiers playing cards". The last main element is the bulk painted in purple color.
The artwork that I have made combines many different colors and lines of composition.
